CAMBRIDGE, Ohio, April 16, 2008 - The seven Ohio State Park Resorts operated by Xanterra Parks & Resorts are offering three packages with special rates and Internet access for AAA members.
Ohio State Park Resorts are located throughout the state within an easy drive of many major metropolitan areas in Ohio, Southern Michigan and Western Pennsylvania. Xanterra operates Mohican, Maumee Bay, Salt Fork, Punderson Manor, Burr Oak, Hueston Woods and Shawnee State Park Resorts.
"We worked closely with AAA to develop packages that would be especially appealing to AAA members who appreciate both value and adventure," said Dianna Rom, regional sales director for Xanterra Parks & Resorts.
To qualify for the AAA rates and Internet access, visitors must book the packages through their local AAA travel offices. Rates do not include tax and are based upon double occupancy.
"Ohio Naturally" features one night of accommodations, a hiker snack pack, walking trail maps, park map with wildlife identified, an Ohio wildlife field guide and a card that allows 24 hours of Internet access. Rates start at $97 per couple.
The "AAA Family Escape in Ohio" one night of accommodations for a family of four, a local family activity, breakfast for two adults and up to two children 10 and under, one large two-topping pizza, four sodas, movie, popcorn, kids welcome gift and 24 hours of Internet access. The local activities vary based upon the resort. Examples include a visit to a zoo, geo-caching, boat rental, bowling, access to a water slide, picnic, drive-in movie and a museum. Rates start at $175 per family.
"AAA Gas and Go" features two nights of lodging, a $25 gasoline card, breakfast for two each day, a local activity and 24 hours of Internet access. The local activities vary based upon the resort. Examples include golf, paintball, boat rental and horseback riding. Rates start at $229 per couple.
