OHIO STATE PARK RESORTS GEAR UP FOR BUSY, UNUSUAL SPRING BREAK WEEK;RESORTS OFFER WIDE SELECTION OF VALUE-ADDED PACKAGES FOR LAST-MINUTE BREAKERS

For Immediate Release

Cambridge, Ohio, February 22, 2008 - Spring break will be busier than usual - but just as fun as always - at seven Ohio State Park Resorts this year.

There are two main reasons for the expected increase in spring break visitation this year. First, the Easter holiday is unusually early, and most school districts around the state have designated the pre-Easter week beginning March 16 for spring break. In a more typical year the state's school districts let kids out for break the week before as well as the week after Easter.

And since overall visitation to Ohio State Parks has been up slightly in the past year, many managers of Xanterra-operated resorts are expecting to host large numbers of families with kids of all ages.

Located throughout the state, the resorts are popular spring break locations because they offer a wide range of both indoor and outdoor activities. That's an important consideration given Ohio's unpredictable weather in the early spring.

"While there are some Ohio families who are making the long trek to Florida this March, there are still plenty of families who are staying close to home for spring break," said Sabreena Beaverson, director of central reservations for Ohio State Park Resorts. "We'll be seeing many families playing in the pools, enjoying board games in the lobbies and hanging out in game and exercise rooms. We can't guarantee sun that week, but we can promise opportunities for fun."

Because all the schools are out the same week, Beaverson suggested families make room reservations as soon as possible. "Some of the resorts might even sell out, something that rarely happens when the breaks are spread over two different weeks," she said.

All Ohio State Park Resorts operated by concessioner Xanterra Parks & Resorts are located within an easy drive of major cities. Maumee Bay State Park Resort in northwest Ohio, for example, is a 15-minute drive from Toledo and 45-minute drive from Detroit. Hueston Woods State Park Resort is close to Cincinnati and Dayton.
